We recently received an asylum approval at the Newark Asylum Office for a Mexican national who fears persecution based on her gender identity.
The first iteration of a new alumni engagement initiative united alums working in solo and small firms for CUNY School of Law’s first practice group meeting on May 23, hosted at CUNY Law Works at 2 Court Square. Leading the group is alumna Angela Torregoza, (‘12) who recently launched a boutique immigration law practice in Long Island City with fellow alumnus Amir Rasoulpour (‘12).
AMIR RASOULPOUR and ANGELA TORREGOZA, chapter members of the New York Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) traveled to Washington, D.C., and visited Congressional offices to share the contributions of immigrants to our state with members of Congress and explain the impact of the anti-immigrant policies implemented by the Trump administration.
Our event, #ImmiGreat, an art exhibit celebrating the immigrant experience, was featured by visual artist, Sarah Goodchild Robb on her blog. Here's an excerpt
Our Founder, Angela Antonia Torregoza, Esq. speaks about work visas (H-1B, B-in-lieu of H-1B, O-1 visas), National Interest Waiver, Entrepreneurs in Residence programs, and investor visas as a guest at Legal Talk with Sumaiya Khalique.
